Bill Yan Media Release CLP to deliver Royal Darwin Hospital access upgrades20 November 2024 The CLP Government is delivering better access to Royal Darwin Hospital with planned upgrades to improve safety and relieve traffic congestion. The upgrades will also ensure access to the hospital is always maintained for emergency services. They will be delivered in three stages and include:
Minister for Logistics and Infrastructure, Bill Yan, said the upgrades were well overdue and had been brought forward as a priority. “Territorians gave us a mandate to reduce crime, rebuild the economy and restore our iconic Territory lifestyle,” said Mr Yan. “Appropriate access to RDH is a key driver to improving community liveability and these much needed upgrades will deliver better health outcomes for Territorians while strengthening the resilience of our emergency and hospital services. “The former Labor Government continued to put Territorians at real risk by dragging their feet and not delivering these works. Astonishingly, they prioritised an NBL High Performance Centre and other Labor pet projects over Territorians’ health. “Territorians deserved better, and these works are proof that we are getting on with the job, and prioritising infrastructure projects that will actually improve the lives of Territorians.” ENDS
