COVID-19 | Update for Haydon Residents and Families No images? Click here 4 March 2022 Dear Family Members, COVID-19 Update - Calvary Haydon I am writing to inform you that unfortunately a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. The asymptomatic staff member contracted COVID-19 in the community and unknowingly worked in the St Margaret’s household this week while infectious. The Public Health Unit has advised that, in line with ACT Health guidelines, the lockdown of St Margaret’s is to be extended. St Margaret’s residents are still able to move about freely. However, they must continue to remain within their own household and cannot visit other parts of the home. A round of PCR testing was done for St Margaret’s residents today and we will advise you of the results when they become available. Despite the lockdown, Calvary Haydon remains open to visitors but with measures in place to help keep our residents, their visitors and our staff as safe as possible. Visiting arrangements are consistent with Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care and remain the same as in recent weeks:
We will continue to liaise closely with Public Health Unit officials, who will make the decision about when it is safe to remove the current restrictions. Please be assured that our staff have prepared for situations such as these and are trained in strict infection control procedures. They continue to focus all of their attention on the individual care needs of residents. You can help us to ease anxiety by sharing this information with other family and friends. Thank you for your continued understanding and patience at this time. Sincerely, Karen Campbell Founded in 1885 by the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, Calvary is a charitable, not-for-profit, Catholic health care organisation.
