Winter 2026 Exam Schedule is Available
The Winter 2026 final exam schedule is now available. You can find the schedule on the Scheduling and Examination Services website, through your Carleton360 account and the Carleton Mobile app. The final exam period takes place from Saturday,  April 11 to Thursday, April 23.

The Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) Contest is On!
Carleton's 3MT Contest is open! To find out more and sign up for the 2026 3MT mailing list, visit our 3MT page. The Qualifying Rounds will take place on Friday, March 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The 3MT Finals will take place on Wednesday, March 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Summer Session is Approaching
The summer schedule is now available through Carleton Central (by logging into Carleton360). Registration for the summer session begins March 19 for degree students and March 23 for non-degree students.

TA Pedagogical Training Catalogue
Teaching and Learning Services offers a variety of paid pedagogical training workshops for Teaching Assistants (TAs). The 
online catalogue displays the workshops that are currently available.

Register for Data Day 12.0
Join Carleton Science for Data Day 12.0 on March 31. Data Day is an annual conference that celebrates the latest developments in data science and analytics research. 
Register here. Students interested in participating in this year's Data Day Student Poster Showcase are asked to submit their abstracts by March 4.

Apply for the 2026 Student EDI Research Award
Graduate students from all faculties are invited to apply for the 2026 Student Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Research Award by March 23. This award provides $10,000 in funding and faculty mentorship for a four‑month EDI‑focused research project running from May 1 to Aug. 31.

Nominate a Teaching Assistant for a 2025-26 Outstanding TA Award
If you worked with a great Teaching Assistant in the fall, consider acknowledging their hard work by
nominating them for an Outstanding TA Award. Winners will receive a certificate of recognition and $250. Any TAs who worked in the spring/summer 2025, fall 2025 or winter 2026 terms are eligible.

Last day for registration and course changes (including auditing) in late winter courses.

March 1
Last day for receipt of applications for admission from candidates who wish to be guaranteed consideration for financial assistance (including Carleton fellowships, scholarships and teaching assistantships) administered by Carleton University.

March 6
Last day to withdraw from late winter term courses with a full fee adjustment.

 

 

Job Opportunity: Anti-Black Racism Education Program Coordinator

Carleton's Department of Equity and Inclusive Communities is looking to hire a graduate student to facilitate its Anti-Black Racism Education Program. The coordinator will lead the delivery of workshops and presentations to students, staff and faculty. The goal of the program is to increase awareness of anti-Black racism and build skills to mitigate its impact on Carleton community members.

In addition to facilitating workshops, the coordinator will be responsible for expanding the program and developing a comprehensive collection of educational resources and materials. Some nominal and related administrative services will also be provided as part of this function.

Qualifications:

  • Current Carleton graduate student
  • Strong knowledge of anti-Black racism and critical race theory and its application in professional development
  • Experience working with human rights, equity and inclusion issues – particularly work within African, Black and Caribbean communities
  • Passionate about contributing to positive social change and a strong commitment to anti-oppression and anti-racism
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Organized, collaborative, and good interpersonal skills
  • Strong group facilitation skills
  • Able to communicate key concepts in a clear, accessible, and inclusive manner
  • Knowledge in adult learning methodologies
  • Ability to work within a team as well as individually

Pay: $30 an hour – between 15 to 20 hours per month

Start date: April 2026

The Mental Health and Well-being Research and Training Hub is holding a book launch event on March 2 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre.

Chancellor's Professor Robert J. Coplan has written The Joy of Solitude and will discuss his new book.

Chet Mitchell Memorial Lecture: Constructing Modern Slavery: Law, Capitalism and Unfree Labour

This in-person event will be held on March 4 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in 2017 Dunton Tower.

Constructing Modern Slavery: Law, Capitalism and Unfree Labour illustrates how legal meaning is shaped by cultural political economy and how law’s technicalities, in turn, shape what we understand as unfree labour. This lecture will be given by Professor Judy Fudge from McMaster University.

Research Fellowships in the Indo-Pacific

For students with research on the Indo-Pacific region or interested in visiting an Indo-Pacific country for research: Carleton International has opened a call for applications for research fellowships at institutions in the Indo-Pacific region. Graduate students from any discipline are invited to apply. Placements in several specialized fields and research areas are also offered. Successful candidates will receive $10,000 for travel and living expenses.

Ravens Sweep OUA Nordic Skiing Championships

The Carleton Ravens swept the OUA (Ontario University Athletics) Nordic Skiing Championships, winning their fourth straight women's title and tenth men's title!

The Ravens have now won 27 combined OUA championships, including nine of the last ten women's championships.
