Move-In Weekend at Huron: A Heartfelt Thank You
From August 30 to September 1, Huron's campus came alive with excitement, anticipation, and a warm sense of community as we welcomed our newest students to their home away from home. Move-In Day is always a special time, and this year was no exception — thanks in large part to the incredible efforts of our dedicated volunteers. Whether you were helping carry boxes, guiding families, or simply offering a smile and directions, your support made all the difference.
We'd also like to extend our sincere thanks to the many parents and family members who stopped by to greet staff and connect with our community. Your presence and warm conversations were deeply appreciated and helped set a welcoming tone for the academic year ahead.
Introducing Huron’s Inaugural Lawyer-in-Residence
We’re excited to welcome William A. G. “Bill” Simpson (’99), Partner at Lerners LLP and accomplished Huron alumnus, as our first-ever Lawyer-in-Residence. A nationally recognized personal injury lawyer and former Western Law professor, Bill brings deep expertise and a strong commitment to mentorship, ethics, and empathy.
In this one-year, renewable volunteer role, he’ll support students pursuing careers in law, advocacy, and public policy through workshops, classroom visits, and career programming. He’ll also help connect with legal alumni and contribute to new initiatives like a potential Mock Trial Program.
This appointment reflects Huron’s dedication to real-world learning and meaningful mentorship. We’re grateful to Bill for giving back in such a powerful way.
Announcing the Weston International Scholars Program
Huron is proud to announce the Weston International Scholars Program - aimed at expanding equitable access to Huron University’s world-class education on a global scale. The Program, which was made possible through a generous gift from The Hilary and Galen Weston Foundation, will provide full scholarships to exceptional international students from underserved regions around the world. These scholars will bring resilience, perspective, and leadership to our campus, enriching our community and inspiring us all to lead with heart.
