Important Update for Calvary George Vowell No images? Click here COVID-19 UPDATE - Calvary George Vowell opened to visitors yesterday
I am pleased to advise that the COVID-19 PCR testing conducted on residents recently has returned negative results for all residents. As a result, the Local Public Health Unit has advised that the restrictions at the home can be lifted, residents can move freely within the home. Are visitors allowed? Effective Thursday 13 January we re-opened to visitors. Please note: a communication sent to residents earlier today incorrectly stated that we open tomorrow 15 January. Thank you for clarifying with residents and families, as required, that the communication sent was not quite correct and that we visitation opened on Thursday 13 January and our apologies for any inconvenience caused. In line with Calvary’s recent visitor update of 29 December 2021, one single nominated visitor only will be permitted per resident during the home’s visiting hours. This is due to the continuing heightened risk of infection and will be in place until further notice. Each family should nominate the visitor and notify the home manager of who this person is. The visitor is strongly encouraged to have obtained a booster vaccine if they are eligible. Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, residents who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the home manager to discuss arrangements. What happens now? You will continue to closely monitor all residents for symptoms of COVID-19. It is likely, as a precaution, that designated visitors will at some stage in the near future be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home. However, this arrangement is not yet in place. Thank you for all that you are doing to ensure our residents continue to receive the safest possible care with empathy and compassion in this challenging time.
