Children have the right to say what they think should happen when adults are making decisions that affect them and to have their opinions taken into account.

Amplifying the voices of children and young people

We’re excited to launch the Voice of the Child Toolkit and showcase how we are working across the Centre to ensure that children are meaningfully involved in matters that concern them. Stay tuned for more information on our upcoming webinar which will unpack the toolkit and apply it to policy and practice contexts.

This edition features:

  • a case study from our Hearing Research team asking children who are deaf or hard of hearing what outcomes matter to them
  • an example of children co-authoring a publication on a health and wellbeing questionnaire co-designed by children, parents and clinicians
  • a reflection on focus groups with 65 primary school students to understand what they know about mental health and wellbeing support at school
  • the latest post in our Reflections on relational practice blog series, exploring how we can give space to children’s voices, especially when they come without words.
