BC specialists are invited to collaborate on how to improve specialty care in a post-pandemic world at:

A New Day: Emerging priorities in specialty care

Presented by the Specialist Services Committee and Specialists of BC, the Specialists Symposium 2022 will have a keynote address from Dr Alika LaFontaine, President-Elect, Canadian Medical Association, and offer four workshops about:

  • Cultures, Communities, and Relationships
    Gain understanding about how cultural and structural considerations impact care for Indigenous patients and their families.
  • Processes of Care
    Discuss ways to address challenges in clinical, outpatient practice while optimizing community-based care.
  • Climate Action
    Explore ways to take action against climate conditions that impact health care.
  • Virtual Care
    Hear from a panel of experts in the digital space about policies and legislation to consider when providing patient care virtually.

Participating specialists can earn up to 5.5 MOC Section 1 Group Learning credits and up to seven hours of sessional time.

In alignment with the Provincial Health Officer’s order, all participants in the Specialists Symposium 2022 must show their BC Vaccine Card to confirm they have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccine at least two weeks prior to the event. Any changes to the requirements will be communicated with participants.
