,WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!! Join our petition to the Town Council Let's fight to save the Conard CHIEFTAINS and Hall WARRIORS!!! Dear , We continue to fight for the issues that impact the people of West Hartford. Recently, one thing has become abundantly clear: the majority of West Hartford residents did NOT want to retire the names of the Conard Chieftains and Hall Warriors. However, despite the overwhelming opposition to the change, the Democrat majority on the West Hartford Board of Education (WeHa BOE) refused to listen to the feedback of the community and instead voted to remove these honored and beloved names from our high schools and our town. We cannot allow this change to happen, so we are taking the fight to our West Hartford Town Council. At our West Hartford Republican Town Committee (WeHa RTC) meeting in February, town resident, Scott Zweig outlined a potential strategy to help voters prevent this unwanted change. At our WeHa RTC meeting in March, Tony, one of our RTC members, agreed to help coordinate the effort. Scott and Tony are putting together a team to help collect at least 3,000 signatures on a petition that will be presented to the Town Council for a referendum on the matter as soon as possible. The WeHa BOE and the schools are moving quickly to select new team names, so we must move even faster! Scott and Tony need your immediate support. They are looking for passionate residents, neighbors and friends who want to help. They will be hosting a kick-off meeting, as soon as possible, with everyone interested in helping with this important endeavor. As part of the effort, we need volunteers to help with the following: - Solicit signatures for the petition at local stores, sporting events, heavy traffic areas, etc. (This is the most important piece of the plan). - Promote the effort through multiple communication channels (e.g., social media, email lists, West Hartford school PTOs, sports/neighborhood/friend groups, etc.) -Provide other ideas to help connect this group to other media outlets If you are interested in helping with this effort, please email Tony at mascotnames@whgop.org immediately. You can also just click on the button below and send an email with your contact information indicating your interest in helping the cause. If you care about this issue and West Hartford schools, now is the time to get involved! If you have any questions or if you need additional information, please feel free to email me at chair@whgop.org or call our WeHa RTC office at 860-840-7430. Sincerely, Shawn Daly ![]() |
