They act as an incentive to progress through the sections and give the younger boys something to aspire to. The section badges are ordered from the National Resource Centre, the same way as all the other badge orders. They are on the product price list. The section badges do not impact the shirt order in anyway as the shirts come direct from the supplier and the badges from NRC. The section badges were not part of the original replacement polo shirt order as we would not know what section your boys are in and therefore that needs to be done separately. Each unit will need to send us a list of numbers per section. The Polo shirts are ordered, embroidered with the company/unit designation and then sent directly from the supplier to each unit/company that places an order. The section badges need to be sewn on the same as any embroidered badge. The location on the shirt sleeve is shown below. Child Protection Roadshow Update! We have commenced the roadshow with Malcolm and Linda Bayliss from Mallinbay Consultants and have completed the Tasman, Wellington and Manawatu regions with four 2.5 hour seminars covering off important aspects of Child Protection. Though the numbers initially have been small, the response to the first seminars has been fantastic and the feedback very encouraging. Chris Lane, Captain 1st Blenheim commented; "Hi Mike – I just wanted to follow this up myself and thank you for coming to Blenheim for the opening presentation of the Child Protection Roadshow. We were privileged to have you, Warwick, Malcolm and Linda come and talk to us all about this hugely important and scary topic. But it was immensely valuable to learn all the handy tips and ideas on how to manage this. It actually gave me a real confidence boost that my keeping up some standard protocols and bringing these into our culture it was massively increase the vigilance and provide really good protection for everyone involved in our local BB company. The effect of that will be more confidence from our parents and community that I think will only encourage their support." The Roadshow continues with Auckland and Whangarei next week and subsequently BOP, Waikato, Coromandel, Canterbury, Otago and Southland. BB Staff will also be available to talk about what's happening within BB before and after the presentations, so please feel free to get in touch for any reason. If you are in a leadership position or volunteer with children, this seminar will be of great benefit to you and worth the investment in time.
