Click here September 29, 2023 Crates for Ukraine 3.0It may be gone from the front page, but the war in Ukraine continues and the OPC has once again been invited to join the PCA in Crates for Ukraine's third iteration, called Crates for Ukraine 3.0. We've set the goal again at 400 for this iteration. We were very close to that goal last time, so we think it's achievable. How amazing it would be if every OP Church packed just four crates each! That would put us at over 1300 crates! Crates for Ukraine 3.0 is the current iteration of the PCA's Mission to the World's effort to provide humanitarian aid along with the gospel message to the people of war-torn Ukraine. The last iteration provided over 1300 crates in total of daily and life-saving aid. By means of the Crates effort, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ukraine, through which the program is organized, has had unprecedented opportunities to share the gospel with many; planting seeds all over the country. If you haven't joined in the Crates effort, please prayerfully consider, then, if you feel led, go to cratesforukraine.com and register. Short Term Missions Summer Wrap-Up 2023 Summer 2023 is gone just as quickly as it came. However, for the first time in multiple years, OPC Short-Term Missions is thankful to be able to look back on a summer full of teams traveling around the globe to assist missionaries, engage in evangelism, and to reach the lost with the gospel. This year, over 200 short-term missionaries went out to six locations: Quebec, Canada; two Czech Republic locations; Western Ukraine; Lanham, MD; and Wildwood, NJ. Though the summer is gone, it is evident that the Lord is already manifesting long-term fruit as a result of the teams who were sent out this year, both in those who went, and in those who received them. This was made clear through the joyful testimonies of those who served on various teams this summer. June to November is Hurricane Season. Are you prepared for a disaster? The Reformed Deacon In this episode David Nakhla and producer Trish Duggan sit down with OPC missionary Heero Hacquebord, MTW MTW Ukraine country director, Doug Shepherd and L'viv Crates for Ukraine warehouse manager Ruslan. Heero summarizes the Crates for Ukraine program's essentialness: "Crates is one way for us to show people we are not here to take advantage of them. Our church is not here to get people's money, you know, to brainwash their kids or, you know, whatever the stereotypes may be. But we are really here to serve. Some of the more traditional churches in Ukraine are stepping up in the face of this horrible war in Ukraine and saying, hey, you know the church is about loving people, showing Christ's love, and helping to meet people's needs. And so people begin to see us in a different light." Coming up on The Reformed Deacon: releasing this Sunday, October 1: A Conversation with a Former Refugee, Okuch Ojullo.
