New Announcements

RSVP by tonight to let us know if you plan to come to PCP Gala 2023!   PCP Gala 2023 will be held on Friday, March 31st at Galdo's in South Philadelphia. The evening, 6-10 PM, will include dinner, dancing, photo booth and three drink tickets. Price is $32 for PCP students/faculty/staff and $64 for non-PCP guests. The 50% discount on PCP peeps is due to generous donations of alumni and friends. NJPhA and DPhA Pharmacy Study Hour! Come out to our pharmacy study hour on Thursday, March 2 from 1-2pm in STC137 and prepare for exams or esars right before spring break! We will be providing FREE Insomnia cookies and snacks! We will also be having a RAFFLE for those who attend, so you definitely don't want to miss out! PCP Student Council Meeting Dates! Save the dates! PCP Student Council will be meeting Tuesday, 2/28 at 6 pm in PTC 140. Our future meeting dates are Tuesday March 21 at 6 pm and Thursday, April 20 at 6 pm both in PTC 140. These meetings are open to all students so we hope to see you there! P1-P4 pharmacy students: Accepted Student Day event help needed! Do you want to be part of recruiting the next class of pharmacy students into PCP? If so, we need you! ISO P1-P4 pharmacy students to assist with Accepted Student Days this spring! The ASD events are on Sunday March 5 (coming up soon!), Sunday April 2 and Sunday April 16 from 9:45am - noon, and we would like to involve students in a variety of activities for our prospective guests. Please use this Google form linked here to indicate which day(s) you can help and what activity(s) you would be interested in. Dr. Waite will be in touch with more details as the events get closer. The Remington Clinical Competition! APhA-ASP and PPA-SJU will be hosting The Remington Clinical Competition sponsored by Pyrls on 03/30 from 1PM to 3PM. It will be a jeopardy-styled competition open for all pharmacy students with questions ranging from topics such as cardiology, pulmonology, and so on. The members in the winning team will get a $50 gift card each. Members in the first and second runner-up teams will get a $25 gift card each. Additionally, we will be raffling off 10- $20 dollar gift cards to participants at the event. We will also provide Jimmy Johns and snacks during the event. Sign up via the google form attached. 2/23

DIA presents Industry Bootcamp! Drug Information Association (DIA) is excited to host our first ever Industry Bootcamp! This bootcamp consists of 4 different sessions that will give insight into the pharmaceutical industry, how to prep for interviews, 1:1 CV and resume reviews with fellows, and a chance to hear from P4 students who received fellowships! This bootcamp can not only help students interested in fellowships but also internships, IPPEs, APPEs and beyond. If you are interested in learning more, click HERE to view our flyer. Please note that to attend our session 4, you must attend at least 2 of the other sessions. In addition, for each event you attend, you will be entered in a raffle to win a free National DIA membership. Please RSVP by using THIS form. You must RSVP in order to attend the bootcamp sessions. HIV Testing Initiative - P1 or P2 Student Administrators Wanted! Sunray Drugs is looking for two motivated students (current P1 or P2) to support a year-long HIV testing initiative! This is a paid internship that will take place April 2023 to May 2024. Students will be responsible for supporting one of two Sunray Drugs locations as they implement HIV point-of-care testing services into their sites (students will not be responsible for performing the tests). Please see this document for more information on the initiative and job responsibilities. Clinical Pharmacy Internship with Harvard and Pfizer! The application for the Pharmacy Clinical Informatics Internship with Harvard and Pfizer is open and is due March 3, 2023. This is a good opportunity to learn to conceptualize, develop, and complete a project on improving the quality of patient care through informatics. Celebrating Black Heritage and History in the Pharmacy Profession! To finish out our celebration of Black heritage and history in the profession of pharmacy in the US, we have information about Black pharmacists' organizations in Philadelphia: past and present. A 2020 PCP alumnus, Marques Williams, currently serves as the president of one of the organizations described, the Greater Philadelphia Pharmaceutical Association (GPPA). Summer Registration Opens Today! Are you interested in taking general education courses during the summer? Summer registration is now open and you can find the Undergraduate course offerings here. As a reminder, general education or Major course requirements must be taken at SJU unless the course is not being offered here. If a course is not offered you can request permission to take a course elsewhere. Please follow the proper steps listed here before requesting permission. You can refer to Degree Works for your outstanding general education requirements. If you need further assistance in determining your requirements please feel free to contact me.
