This is a reminder that the Remutaka Hill road will be closed from 9pm this Sunday 24 November to 4am Friday 29 November.
If you have an urgent need to travel over the hill, a limited shuttle service is available and should be booked in advance - please email remutaka@nzta.govt.nz
This is the first of the five-night block closures planned over the next 12 months to enable road work crews to safely undertake essential maintenance and slip prevention works.
We'll keep you up to date with the other closures closer to the time.
The night-time closures:
- increase safety for maintenance crews
- significantly reduce the number of daytime disruptions for road users
- and enable better quality of maintenance work.
Access will be available for emergency services throughout the closure.
