Shenzhen Bay Customs experiencing major delays processing cargo from Hong Kong.
20th September 2021 STAG Alert: Shenzhen Bay Customs Experiencing Clearing Delays on Incoming Goods from Hong KongThe STAG wishes to alert seafood exporters of the following delays at Shenzhen Bay Customs:Since Friday 17th September, Shenzhen Bay Customs have been experiencing major delays in clearing cargo crossing from Hong Kong. Some cargo has been unable to clear for over 24 hours, with reports of increased testing requirements and staff shortages contributing to the backlog. Reports now indicate that Shenzhen customs are recommending that importers cease importing and sell product arriving today into the Hong Kong market. The situation is evolving, the STAG recommends that you work with your clearing company agent and importers to receive more recent updates. Other ports of entry within China where product can be shipped directly should be investigated by exporters whilst the backlog is cleared. This is impacting all live seafood from all exporting countries. If you have any new information please keep us updated. We will circulate any updates on this development.
