Please note:
The General Purpose field is CLOSED due to some grass renovation. Apologies, but this means surrounding arenas may also be closed as it is a safety concern with them using heavy machinery. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Keep an eye on the website and social media for updates.

NEW EA PARA-DRESSAGE TESTS NOW AVAILABLE

Equestrian Australia is pleased to announce the publication of a new set of EA National Para-Dressage Tests, ranging from grassroots to advanced level.

Each of the five Para-equestrian categories has four progressive levels, similar to open dressage competitions, that increase in difficulty as the rider moves towards FEI level.

This development pathway will allow athletes to continue to strengthen their capabilities as they proceed towards FEI competition. The EA High Performance Program has developed the new suite of tests with a view to nurture and grow the pool of Australian Para-equestrian talent available for World Championship and Paralympic Games selection in the future.

The EWA Para Equestrian Panel is seeking nominations from interested Para Equestrians, who are competing regularly, to join the Panel as the Rider Representative.

Nominations will be published and PE riders will be encouraged to vote for the person they believe would best fit this role.

HELMET TAGGING FOR JUMPING - LENIENCY DURING JANUARY & FEBRUARY 2022

As EA roll out mandatory Helmet Tagging for Jumping from 1 January, 2022, due to a number of factors, including many show cancellations in late 2021, the EA Jumping Committee has agreed that there should be some leniency shown during January and February 2022, if athletes present without an appropriately tagged helmet.

We are hoping that all events will have helmet taggers available on the day, but due to the many varied locations of events, holidays and Covid, there may be instances where athletes cannot immediately have their helmet tagged.

CHANGE TO EA DRESSAGE TESTS

Following on from the 2022 change in the calculation of Penalties on FEI Dressage score sheets, including FEI Young Horse (Art 430-6.2), the Equestrian Australia Dressage Committee (EADC) is adopting the change for all EA level test sheets.

“Penalties" are now “Technical Faults’ and changed to an 0.5% non-cumulative deduction (previously 2 penalty points).

Implementation is from 1/1/2022.

The EADC believe this is much fairer for a mistake that does not impact on the actual judging of performance.

Revised test sheets showing the change are now available on the EA website.
