Decorative Concrete & Design Trends for 2022 More important than following any design trend is creating a space that's right for you. With that said, it’s fun to get some inspiration by seeing what design styles are popular. We looked at what design ideas are taking hold in 2022—and here, we share how decorative concrete fits into the picture. Pictured: An area of the SUNDEK office in Grand Prairie, TX, stained with SunBurn Burnishable Stain. Condo Balconies Revived with Waterproofing The walls and surfaces of the balconies at the San Isidro Condominiums in Santa Fe, NM, were in bad shape when SUNDEK first saw them. They were significantly damaged with leaks and cracking from water penetration, and the owners thought they'd have to tear the balconies out and start from scratch. SUNDEK proposed a different idea, though. Instead, they suggested removing the stucco, applying a waterproof coating, then applying a decorative coating. See how, despite challenges, they completed the waterproofing job, providing tenants with a beautiful and safe surface that will last for years to come. Cracked Pool Deck Gets a Second Life Cracked concrete isn't a lost cause. One option is to repair it, but another is to use the cracks to your benefit. With SUNDEK's Custom Scoreline Effect, our contractors can incorporate existing cracks into a new design. By combining the cracks with new, intentionally created scorelines, you can get a beautiful surface that looks brand new. Pictured above, a pool deck in San Marcos, TX, was repaired and resurfaced using the Custom Scoreline Effect technique. See how it was done.
