Second-Year Move-In Information

Move-in Photo

Second-Year Move-In Dates: Friday, August 21 to Sunday, August 23. Full move-in support, including parking and staff assistance, will be available from 8am-5pm.

Need a reminder for your way around campus? Check out this campus map for information about parking garages and street directions.

In case you need to change your arrival time due to inclement weather or other unforeseen travel challenges, please email living@upenn.edu with any concerns.

Summer Soirée at the Penn Museum Flyer

Summer Soirée at the Penn Museum

  • Location: Penn Museum (Entrance through Warden Garden) 

Class Board presents: Celebrate the start of your second year with an unforgettable evening at the Penn Museum. Explore world-renowned galleries filled with extraordinary artifacts from ancient civilizations, stroll through the Museum's beautiful gardens, and enjoy desserts, music, dancing, and live performances by fellow Penn students.

Student DJs will keep the energy going throughout the night, making this a perfect opportunity to reconnect with friends and kick off the year together.

Class of 2029 Class Board presents: Root for the Philadelphia Phillies as they take on the Atlanta Braves. Tickets distributed in advance by Class of 2029 Class Board and at the See & Sip event.

  • Location: Locust Walk, outside of Rodin College House 

Class Board 2029 presents: Stop by and enjoy frozen treats! The first 250 second-year students who attend will receive a complimentary ticket and SEPTA two-fare pass for the Phillies game on September 4.

  • Location: Arthur Ross Gallery, Fisher Fine Arts Library

Class of 2029 Class Board presents: Join your classmates for an afternoon reception featuring refreshing drinks, snacks, a themed photo booth and the opportunity to explore the Arthur Ross Gallery’s current exhibition, At Liberty: Life in the City of Brotherly Love During the Early Republic.
 
The first 50 students to attend will receive a complimentary Phillies ticket and SEPTA two-fare pass for Friday night’s Phillies game.

Second-Year Experience (SYE) Grant

FYE & SYE grants are available only for academic-year events. events held during New Student Orientation are not eligible.

Throughout the academic year, we are committed to the development of Penn’s SYE program, which is designed specifically to address the unique needs of second-year students.

Our office can assist with marketing for your event and/or provide grants up to $250. Itemized budgets are required, and preference for these competitive grants will be given to requests that use funds for programming beyond food, drink, & refreshments.

In order to be eligible for a grant, your group needs to have a 26-digit budget code with the University of Pennsylvania or work with a department that does and can journal the funds to you. Please fill out the application form, and our office will reach out to you via email.

Please note that one organization is only allowed to receive one grant during one academic year. All grants will be considered if submitted at least 1 week in advance of the event. If you have any questions, please email provost-nso-ai@pobox.upenn.edu.

Deadline for 2026 Fall and 2027 Spring events’ application:

  • Fall Events – Monday, November 2, 2025 at 11:59 pm
  • Spring Events – Monday, February 1, 2026 at 11:59 pm
