Your New Food Waste Bins are coming in February!

Residents in stand-alone houses will be receiving their new food waste bins, along with a kitchen caddy, compostable liners, and an information kit this February ready for the new food waste collection service which starts 16 March.

This new service has been introduced to meet the NSW Government mandate for all households in NSW to have a food waste collection service by 2030 and will recycle all of your food wastes – including meat, bones, and cooked foods into a nutrient rich soil improver and green energy.

Removal of the Recycling Trailer at the Canopy

Due to ongoing issues of dumping and anti-social behaviour, Council has made the difficult decision to remove the recycling trailer from the Canopy carpark. The trailer will be removed Monday 12 January. Residents can still recycle their clothing, e-waste, and other tricky to recycle items using the following services:

♻ HomeCycle booking service to collect items for recycle and repurpose that don’t belong in household bins.

♻ The Northern Sydney CRC free drive-through and drop-off service for household problem waste.

Christmas Tree Disposal Service

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree, how do I dispose of thee? Council is offering Lane Cove residents the opportunity to have their live Christmas trees chipped for free from now to Thursday 15 January.

The drop-off area is near the skate ramp area of Blackman Park, Lloyd Rees Drive, Lane Cove West – please do not enter the Depot area or leave trees at the gates to the Depot; it is illegal to dump trees and they should only be left at the concrete slab area signposted further along Lloyd Rees Drive on the right hand side.

Please be prepared to produce your proof of residence when dropping off your tree for this free service.
