Santos in the Community Santos welcomes 'concierge' support from NSW Government
Image: The Wilga Park Power Station near Narrabri Welcome to the latest edition of the NSW Monthly Activities Update. April has been another productive month for Santos, with our local teams continuing to progress our land access, community engagement and operational priorities. We welcome the acceptance of the Narrabri Gas Project (NGP) and associated pipelines as part of the NSW Investment Delivery Authority - a government body tasked with supporting major project delivery. In practical terms, the new arrangement will deliver specialist 'concierge' support and assistance to help progress the project. As we're all very aware, the past month has also seen a heightened level of global uncertainty driven by conflict in the Middle East - and consequently a renewed focus on the strategic value of oil and gas production here in Australia. We are proud to say that amid the global market disruptions Santos has stepped up to help secure domestic fuel supplies, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to national energy security. You can find out more about these efforts in the Santos in the News section of this newsletter. Santos in the News Santos steps up to help keep critical fuels flowing Santos has taken proactive steps to support Australia's fuel security and assist domestic refiners during this period of heightened uncertainty in the Middle East. Click the link below to find out how our fast-tracked crude oil deliveries and domestic sales helped boost onshore fuel production. Narrabri Gas Project
The Narrabri Gas Project involves the development and production of natural gas near Narrabri in New South Wales. We have approval to drill up to 850 gas wells on 425 well pads and to construct and operate gas processing and water treatment facilities. Santos has committed 100 per cent of Narrabri gas to the east coast domestic market, helping to bring energy security to the region and putting downward pressure on gas and electricity prices for homes, manufacturers and businesses. If you would like more information about this project, please contact our team via email at Energy.NSW@santos.com or give us a call on (02) 6790 9235. You can also visit the NGP website.

Hunter Gas Pipeline and Narrabri Lateral Pipeline
Santos is proposing to deliver natural gas from Narrabri to the east coast domestic market via two new underground pipelines - the Hunter Gas Pipeline (HGP) and the Narrabri Lateral Pipeline (NLP). Survey activities are currently underway on private and public land as Santos works to confirm the pipeline route. Learn more about these projects on our website. Hunter Gas Pipeline
New reference group for pipeline communities Applications have now closed for the HGP Community Reference Groups, following a month-long advertising campaign across the region. Following the expression of interest process, Santos will convene a single group comprising local landholder, business, industry, Council and community members, with the group to be independently chaired by Mr Garry West. The voluntary, non-statutory group will provide a forum for meaningful two-way discussion and information sharing about the project. Applicants are currently being contacted, with final membership to be confirmed in the coming weeks. Landholder information: pipeline easements explained
If you're a landholder who will host the pipeline on your property, this section of our monthly update addresses common questions and clarifies misconceptions about how easements work. Myth: There is a common misconception the whole 200 metre pipeline corridor will be cleared. Fact: Santos is working to finalise the final easement within the approved 200 metre corridor. The width of the final easement will be reduced to just 30 metres. If extra workspace is required during construction, landholders will be compensated for the use of this extra area and associated disturbance. Community Consultation Community Consultative Committee and advisory groups The latest Narrabri Gas Project Community Consultative Committee (CCC) meeting was held on Tuesday 17 March 2026. Minutes from previous CCC meetings are available here. The next Aboriginal and Cultural Heritage, Biodiversity, Greenhouse Gas and Water Advisory Group meetings for 2026 are to be scheduled. Previous minutes from the advisory group meetings can be accessed here. Community PartnershipsNew fencing a winner for local race events
Image: Narrabri Jockey Club president Will Childs and Committee Member Zoe Saunders with Santos Community and Stakeholder Adviser Abby McClure There's nothing like a country race day to bring a community together, but with so many enthusiastic punters onsite, small fences are often needed to keep events safe and running smoothly. With this in mind, Santos was proud to partner with the Narrabri Jockey Club this month to purchase transportable event fences to help manage crowds at popular functions and enhance overall safety and security. The fences are transportable and easy to set up so they can be used across multiple events and venues. The benefits of this partnership will extend beyond the club - with the fencing to be shared across the region for other local events, sporting group celebrations and community activities. Santos is proud to continue our partnership with the Narrabri Jockey Club as part of our ongoing commitment to contributing positively to the communities where we operate. 2026 Your Local Club Regional Academy Games
