COVID-19 Update

Kia ora,

In line with the Government’s direction in response to COVID-19, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, along with our contractors and suppliers, will stop construction work on sites associated with the Ashhurst Traffic Mitigation project effective from 23:59pm today.

Our priority at this time is to ensure that while we close down our work sites, they remain safe places for you to travel through or near.

Our contractors have made a number of temporary changes until they can come back on-site, including adding asphalt to the road shoulder in places along Salisbury Street, and creating temporary footpath and driveway connections, where necessary.

If you see anything around our sites that needs to be addressed during the shutdown you can call us on 0800 4 HIGHWAYS (0800 44 44 49).

Waka Kotahi remains committed to keeping New Zealanders moving and we will resume construction work as soon as we can. We will also keep you updated on what this may mean for our project completion date.

While construction work is stopping, we will continue to design and plan for our improvements in Ashhurst, so we can hit the ground running as soon as we are able to.

You can still email us during this period at ashhurst@nzta.govt.nz

Ngā mihi,

The project team
