Click here 23 February 2022 Dear Resident or Family Member, COVID-19 Update for Residents and Families of Calvary Brighton-Le-Sands I am writing to inform you that five (5) additional Preston House residents have tested positive in the latest round of testing at Calvary Brighton-Le-Sands on Monday 21 February 2022. This brings the total COVID positive residents to nineteen (19), all residing in Preston House. Seven (7) residents have now been cleared, and there are twelve (12) active cases currently. We are keeping families of the COVID positive residents informed directly. Testing of staff and residents will continue over the coming days, and we will be in touch again when the results become available. We anticipate our next communication to you will be at the end of the week. All Preston House residents are currently isolating and will remain in and be cared for in their rooms for now. Due to the ongoing transmission within the home and in line with Public Health Unit advice Preston House remains closed to visitors at this time. Special visits on compassionate grounds can be arranged through the home manager on 02 8922 6000. In line with Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care, all other Brighton-Le-Sands residents except those in Preston House may receive visitors. There are, however, specific requirements in place to help contain the ongoing transmission and keep our residents and staff safe. Updated information for visitors
We will continue to liaise closely with Public Health Unit officials, who will make the decision about whether and when it is safe to remove the current restrictions. Please contact the home to book a video call with your loved one, or if you have any concerns. Care packages for your loved ones may also be left with security. Please label them clearly. Thank you for your continued understanding and patience at this time. Sincerely, Amanda Bennett, General Manager Aged Care Sydney Founded in 1885 by the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, Calvary is a charitable, not-for-profit, Catholic health care organisation.
