As excitement builds for the 2023 Solar Eclipse, we are pleased to reveal the full program of incredible Dark Sky Festival events that are set to take place across the Shires of Ashburton, Carnarvon and Exmouth.

There is something for everyone visiting the region included in the festival line-up; from world-class dining experiences, live music performances, a series of family-friendly events, stargazing tours and photography lessons for budding astronomers.

Supported by the WA Government, through Tourism WA, the Dark Sky Festival is being delivered through a joint venture between Mellen Events and We Are Gather – two companies who have delivered world-class, large-scale events in Western Australia for more than 30 years combined.

Jamba Nyinayi Festival

The Dark Sky Festival program also includes the inaugural Jamba Nyinayi Festival which will debut on Wednesday 19 April, with the Baiyungu Aboriginal Corporation event to be hosted by Traditional Owner Hazel Walgar at Cardabia Station near Coral Bay.

Jamba Nyinayi, meaning ‘sit for a little while’, will be a celebration of the Baiyunu people and culture, bringing the community together to experience a drone light show, music, dance, the stars, food and fire.

It has also been designed to leave a lasting legacy – providing employment and training opportunities, infrastructure improvements and establishing the festival as must-do on the region’s annual event calendar.

You will find more details about this unique event, including the full program and performance times at ningalooeclipse.com or https://jnfestival.com.au

Region Upskills for the Solar Eclipse!

Anne landed a job in hospitality shortly after moving to Exmouth from Germany with her husband Kai.

A passion for coffee and a barista course propelled her career into café ownership starting the iconic Exmouth Social Society in 2017.

The local business owner is thrilled to be the face of the Workforce Development Program which is being deployed to get the region ready for the tens of thousands of visitors expected for the Solar Eclipse.

Tourism WA with the support of JTSI, Exmouth and Carnarvon CCI, local councils, Gwoodwardu Mia and Real Futures, are working together to upskill participants so they can support local businesses and tourism in Exmouth and Carnarvon.

The program also provides workforce legacy by supporting future career opportunities for locals.

Registrations open this week. Check out the site for more: https://www.workforcedevelopmentprogram.com/exmouth
