Hello Transfer Students!

Welcome to your second day of Transfer Student Orientation! Below you'll find more information about today's events. Events bolded and marked [MANDATORY] are events that you must attend.

If you have any questions or would like to know more information about any of the New Student Orientation (NSO) events, look for our well-trained Orientation Leaders, PHINS (Peers Helping Integrate New Students) all around campus in light blue and navy blue t-shirts.

Today's Calendar

New Student Resources Fair & Campus Express Center

Houston Hall | 10am-3pm

"One-stop shop" for essential resources and services for all Penn students. Opportunity to meet and engage with Penn resources and get your questions answered.

[MANDATORY] Transfer Student Info Session I

College Hall, Room 200 | 1pm-3pm 

Receive your TSO wristband and review the upcoming transfer orientation schedule. 

Allison Zuckerman: Remixed and Reclaimed  

Feintuch Family Lobby, Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts | 2pm-4pm 

Meet the Arthur Ross Gallery, Penn’s free art gallery located inside the Fisher Fine Arts Library. Sign up for your free t-shirt, grab some giveaways, and see Allison Zuckerman: Remixed and Reclaimed, an exhibition of paintings that pull apart art history and pop culture and put them back together in new ways. Gallery staff will be on hand to talk about upcoming exhibitions, student programs, and ways to get involved.

TPHIN-Guided Tours

Meet at the Ben Franklin statue outside College Hall | 3:30pm-4:45pm

The tPHINS will lead a tour of important buildings and landmarks on Penn’s campus. 

President and Provost's First-Year Family Welcome 

College Green | 4:45pm-5:30pm 

First-Year and new transfer families join President J. Larry Jameson and Provost John L. Jackson, Jr. at the steps of College Hall. 

Small Group Dinners

Meet in front of Rodin College House | 6:45pm-9pm 

Transfer students enjoy a wonderful introduction to local restaurants and cuisines. Chat with new friends and tPHINS in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Dinner provided. The group will leave sharply at 6:45pm to go to the restaurant.

NSO Movie Night

Cinemark University City, 4012 Walnut St | 7:30pm

Relax with your fellow new students and enjoy a free screening of either Spider-Man: Brand New Day or The Odyssey. Both films begin at 8pm, so grab some friends, find a seat, and enjoy a fun evening at the movies.  

Dining Café Hours For Tuesday, August 18

Dining café hours throughout the week of NSO can be viewed on Penn Dining website. The options for today are listed below. 

Breakfast: 7am-10am

Hill College House, 1920 Commons, Kings Court English House (Halal available)

Lunch: 11am

Hill College House, 1920 Commons, Kings Court English House (Halal available), and Falk Hillel (Kosher available) are open 11am-4:30pm. Lauder College House is available until 6pm.

Dinner: 5pm

Hill College House, 1920 Commons, Kings Court English House (Halal available), and Falk Hillel (Kosher available) are open 5pm-8pm. Lauder College House is available until 6pm.
