Investment Manager Training (IMT), South Africa!
ANDE South Africa hosted the very first Investment Manager Training in Johannesburg South Africa. The training provided a comprehensive overview of investing in small and growing businesses (SGBs) with a focus on the social and environmental impact of investing in emerging and developing markets. The training was led by African investment professionals, Sewu-Steve Tawia and Winfred Kumi with support from John Kohler. We had participants representing South Africa (Rustenburg, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Johannesburg), Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ghana. The ANDE South Africa team also hosted a networking reception following the Investment Manager Training, themed "Effective collaboration to drive investments and unlock equal opportunity to cultivate a sustainable and inclusive
ecosystem". This brought together ANDE members, partners and a select group of investors/funders and capacity development providers, and provided an opportunity to share learnings, challenges and opportunities. We believe meaningful collaborations were made at the event and we are looking forward to continuing building the capacity and growing the Small and Growing Business (SGB) sector on the African continent.
