Understanding the city planning puzzle        

Redland City Council is launching a new initiative to help the community understand how planning decisions shape the city. Over the coming months, short videos and resources will explain topics such as zoning, housing, infrastructure, environment, and development assessment, while also showing where community voices fit into the process. This will feed into the new Redlands Coast City Plan, which will guide growth over the next 25 years.

It helps businesses align with Sovereign Dence Industrial Priorities, tap into emerging AUKIS opportunities, and position themselves for growth in a competitive defence landscape.

Did you know that Redland City small businesses are full of growth ambition, with 63% planning to expand over the next two years. Another 15% are focused on maintaining their current size, showing a balance of both growth and stability across the sector.

Interestingly, research also shows that 18% of home-based businesses are keen to co-locate with other small businesses, reflecting a growing appetite for collaboration, shared resources, and connected workspaces. This highlights the evolving needs of the local business community and the importance of creating environments that support both innovation and resilience.
