FRIGHTS, FUN AND FAMILY ADVENTURES IN BURNLEY
GHOSTLY TOURS, PUMPKIN MAGIC AND SPOOKY STORIES THIS OCTOBER HALF TERMHello, October! Burnley is ready for a spooky season of family fun and there's lots of Halloween activities taking place across the town... At Queen Street Mill Textile Museum, join Young Yutick's Adventure Tours: A Halloween Special on 31 October from 12.45pm - 2.15pm. Go along in costume and step back to the 1800s to try your hand as a Weaver, Overlooker or Firebeater. Children can get hands-on, earn a certificate and even collect their day's 'wage'. From 29 - 30 October, the museum will also be hosting a Pumpkin Painting Party, where little ones can decorate their own pumpkin, ready to take home. Gawthorpe Hall is offering plenty of Halloween fun too. Their Halloween Trail runs on 25 October from 12pm - 3pm through the gardens, where visitors can hunt for ghosts, witches and pumpkins. On 29 October, drop in for Halloween Crafts in the Victorian Kitchen where you can create a spooky bat, then creep along to the spooky Story Time to see if the team's scary stories will make you jump with delight! On 31 October, the Hall will also be hosting Meet the Plague Doctor, where families and visitors can discover gruesome 1600s cures and make scented poses ready to ward off the plague. For those heading into the town centre, don't forget to visit Charter Walk Shopping Centre, as they host a fun Pumpkin Carving Workshop for children on 30 October. Located outside Superdrug, come along and get creative ahead of Halloween night. And the Halloween fun doesn't stop there! On 1 November, Towneley Hall will be hosting an event for the brave, as they open their doors for a Spooky Sleepover! Raising vital funds for local charities, this event features everything from a twilight tour and woodland wander to scary movie screenings and fun quizzes. With hands-on history, crafts, trails and pumpkin fun, there's plenty to keep the whole family entertained in Burnley this October Half Term.
