SH29A between the Baypark and Te Maunga roundabouts will be closed from 8pm Friday 6 March until 5am Monday 9 March for stone column ground improvement work. Detours will be in place along Truman Lane, Mangatawa Link Road and the Mangatawa Interchange/Sandhurst Drive.
Advanced notice of significant works
SH2/SH29A lane closures – single lane in each direction for stone column works Monday 2 March to Thursday 5 March, nighta only 8pm to 5am (finishing Friday morning).

Long-term traffic management
• State Highway 2 Maunganui Rd NB signalized pedestrian crossing is installed and active for the public to cross the NB traffic to get in to the underpass to access Bayfair.
• State Highway 2 between Te Maunga intersection and Concord Avenue - narrowed lanes and a 50km/h temporary speed restriction are in place for the duration of the project.
• SH2 Maunganui Rd SB two lanes approaching to Bayfair roundabout have been split to create a work zone in the middle, so motorists coming to Bayfair from the city need to use the left lane to access the Bayfair entries on SH2 Maunganui Rd.
• Bayfair roundabout – a 30km/h temporary speed restriction is in place for the duration of the project.
• Matapihi Road, adjacent to the golf driving range – narrowed lanes and a 30km/h temporary speed restriction is in place for the duration of the project.
• Girven Road, near the Bayfair roundabout - narrowed lanes are in place for the duration of the project and the right-turn from the Bayfair Shopping Centre car park onto Girven Road is permanently closed.
• SH29A near Baypark – narrowed lanes and a 50km/h temporary speed restriction are in place for the duration of the project.
• SH2 Papamoa-bound slip lane at the Te Maunga intersection is permanently closed.
• SH2 Northbound slip lane turning to SH29A from the roundabout is permanently closed.
