Super smut fungus combating smothering weed Tradescantia (also known as spiderwort) is an aggressive weed that smothers our native vegetation. Our Bushcare teams have been working closely with the Pittwater Natural Heritage Association to trial the use of Smut fungus to control the weed. Early signs are looking good, with Smut now introduced at 20 sites across the Northern Beaches. Keeping Curly Lagoon cleaner A recently upgraded carpark at the North Curl Curl Community Centre comes with a handy environmental twist.
