Author talk: Stephen Gapps on Gudyarra

Thursday 12 May, 6.30 - 8pm

Gudyarra traces the co-ordinated resistance warfare by the Wiradyuri under the leadership of Windradyne, and others such as Blucher and Jingler, that occurred in a vast area across the central west of New South Wales. Gapps provides an important new historical account of the fierce Wiradyuri resistance.

Fermenting for health workshop

Thursday 28 April, 6.30 - 8.30pm, $15

Fermenting is one of the oldest methods of preserving food and enriches it by the action of bacteria and fungi. It is truly a living food! You will be making a jar of sauerkraut to take home and watching demonstrations on how to make beet kvass and brined ferments with Margaret Mossakowska from the Moss House, who learned homesteading skills during her childhood in rural Poland.

Tuesday’s from 3-31 May, 4pm -5pm ( suitable for 8-12 yrs)

Would you like to give life to your favourite cartoon character in a fun and interactive way?

This 5-week after school cartoon drawing workshop will inspire and encourage creative expression while having fun. Kids will be blown away to learn they can draw their favourite cartoon characters, learning new tips and techniques each week extending their drawing skills.

Eat, Pray, Naches is an oral history project directed by Waverley Council that collected migration stories from the Jewish community in Waverley. You can watch Alex Ryvchin speak about his first Seder celebrating Passover in Australia, and the food that forms his memories and family traditions.
