CUPE 4600 Strike
The bargaining teams for Carleton and CUPE 4600 (unit 1 representing Teaching Assistants and unit 2 representing Contract Instructors) met throughout the weekend but were unable to reach tentative agreements. As a result, the union has chosen to implement its strike. Read the full update on Carleton's Bargaining website.
Carleton Trans Advocacy Group Calls to Action Consultation
The Department of Equity and Inclusive Communities is conducting a consultation on the Carleton Trans Advocacy Group (CTAG) Calls to Action to better facilitate their implementation on campus. The results will be used to inform an action plan to support the well-being of trans and gender diverse people at Carleton. Students are invited to share written feedback in an online survey by Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

Volunteer Opportunities at the International Student Services Office
The International Student Services Office (ISSO) is recruiting student volunteers to help welcome and support global Ravens at Carleton University. If you are interested in helping students, meeting new people and getting involved, you can apply on the ISSO website! As a volunteer, you will benefit from peer-to-peer support, community-building and networking, Co-Curricular Record (CCR) eligibility and more. An assortment of positions and opportunities are available with the earliest positions taking place in June. Applications close Friday, April 7, 2023.

Student EDI Research Award Applications Open
The Office of the Provost and Vice-President (Academic) is now accepting applications for the Student Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Research Award, valued at $10,000 for undergraduate students. Students from all faculties are invited to submit a proposal for an EDI-related research project that they intend to work on during the summer in collaboration with a faculty member. The application deadline for this award is Monday, April 10, 2023.

Writing Consultation Sessions are available one-on-one or through drop ins on Thursdays between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
