The Sarah and Cary Lavine Family Foundation, a private foundation based in Toronto, works on addressing issues related to poverty, especially with youth and in the area of affordable housing. In addition to addressing immediate needs, they also aim to support efforts to identify and tackle underlying causes.

 

Welcome to the most recent signatory
of the Canadian Philanthropy Commitment on Climate Change

The McLean Foundation, established in 1945 by the late Mr. James Stanley McLean, president of Canada Packers, endeavors to maintain a flexible policy, with emphasis on projects in the areas of Welfare, Conservation, The Arts, Health and Education.

  1. Teresa Marques, CEO of Rideau Hall Foundation, received the Report on Business magazine’s 2023 Changemakers award.
  2. Jehad Aliweiwi, Executive Director at Laidlaw Foundation, was profiled in the latest issue of Lifestyles Magazine (issue 304) in the article Community Needs, in which he describes how Laidlaw's support is empowering communities across Canada. 
  3. Lara O'Donnell, Executive Director at Weston Family Foundation, was also featured in the same magazine, in the article Philanthropy Is About Taking The Big Bet, where she discusses the unique role foundations play in our social sector and the awesome responsibility they carry.
  4. Justin Wiebe, PFC Board Director and Lead, Innovation and Strategic Growth at The Mastercard Foundation, was recognized by The Peak as one of the up-and-coming young leaders shaping Canada's economy, culture, and society in 2023.
