Corpus Christi College, Summer 2025

Corpus Christi College

Last week was the pinnacle of the academic year, with family and friends coming together to celebrate the hard work and success of their loved ones at General Admission. As Praelector, Dr Felix Waldmann read out the graduands' names in New Court, cheers went up after each name was called, a testament to the camaraderie within our undergraduate body, formed over years of living and studying side-by-side. Rachel Lawson, Director of Development & Alumni Relations, congratulated graduates and welcomed them into the alumni community, encouraging their lifelong engagement with Corpus, a College home to return to, where they are always welcome.

As we bid farewell to our graduates, we welcomed our latest cohort of Year 12 Pelican Programme students, visiting College for a residential, after successfully completing the virtual super-curricular programme. We finished off the week by opening up the gates to thousands of prospective applicants for our summer Open Days, which for many is the first step on their journey towards studying at Cambridge.

It is thanks to theirs and others generosity that we were able to refurbish the Lodge last year to increase our accommodation stock for undergraduate students, needed due to the extra ten students a year admitted via our successful widening participation programme, the Bridging Course. It was a tough time for the men's first boat, although they gave it their all. Sandwich boat M2 managed two row-overs on the final day after a strong week that saw them bump on Friday.
