Scouts Canada celebrated the inspiring efforts of Paul Phillips and the 6th St. Agnes Scouts, who made significant contributions toward the recovery efforts in Lytton, B.C., following the devastating 2021 wildfire. This pilot project driven by Better Programs and department of Scouting Experiences showcases how leadership and thoughtful planning can make a lasting difference and drive positive change.

Hey young leaders, we want to hear from YOU.

NACY is teaming up with The Students Commission of Canada (SCC) to gather 2,000 youth voices on key policy issues for the State of Youth report, supported by the Department of Canadian Heritage.

This is your chance to share your thoughts, influence real change, and make sure young people’s perspectives are heard loud and clear! We’re looking for 200 youth voices to contribute - so if you’re part of a youth council, network, or group, let’s make it happen together!

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES 

  • Lethhbridge Youth in Action Granting Program aims to empower young leaders by supporting youth-led initiatives that will benefit the community. Projects funded through Youth in Action grants must be initiated, led, and organized by residents of Southwestern Alberta up to 25 years of age, in collaboration with a charitable partner. Deadline February 28, 2025.

  • Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association (CIWA) Change Leaders Project supports immigrant female youth (15-30) with micro-grants to launch short-term projects on topics like mental health, reconciliation, inclusion, environment, civic engagement, and youth resilience. Deadline: March 1, 2025.
  • Laidlaw Foundation Indigenous Youth & Community Futures Fund (IYCFF) invests in opportunities for Indigenous youth to connect with their land, languages and cultures, and strengthen and deepen their relationships within and across Indigenous communities. Deadline March 6, 2025.
  • Youth Empowerment Stream is to fund new and emerging micro-projects that focus on increasing the resilience, engagement, and wellness of youth. Projects must be led by 2+ Indigenous youth (ages 15-29). Deadline March 31, 2025
