Staff Update: Outbreak at Calvary Gympie Views Declared Over

Date:   04 May 2022

To:       All Staff – Calvary Gympie Views

From:  Cassandra Schwartz, Acting General Manager Aged Care

I am pleased to inform residents and families that all tested Calvary Gympie Views residents have received negative results from the latest round of testing. In line with Public Health Unit advice, we now are able to declare the outbreak over and lift the current visitation restrictions at Calvary Gympie Views.

Consistent with Calvary’s Position Statement on Visiting in Aged Care Calvary Gympie Views will welcome more visitors back into the home from 05 May 2022.

Information for visitors

  • Calvary Gympie Views is open to visitors from 05 May 2022.
  • Visiting hours are between 11.00am - 1.30pm and 3.00pm - 4.30pm daily. This is to ensure all screening processes can be effectively completed prior to entry. Last visitor entry to the home is at 4.30pm, however visitors may stay later than this time.
  • There is now no limit to the number of visitors allowed per resident, per day. However only two visitors are permitted at any one time.
  • Visitors will be required to complete screening requirements prior to entry and wear appropriate PPE (including face mask and shield) whilst visiting. PPE is provided by Calvary.
  • As a precaution to keeping residents safe, visitors may be required to have a rapid antigen test (RAT test) before entering the home.

Thank you for all that you have done to ensure our residents continued to receive the safest possible care, with such empathy and compassion over this challenging time. Your hard work is appreciated.

We all look forward to receiving more visitors back into the home
