Katherine flooding: essential services update13 March 2026 Power has been restored to more than 2,600 properties across Katherine amid ongoing challenging conditions as floodwaters recede slowly. As of 5pm today, fewer than 150 properties remain to be connected. Some of those properties will require a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) from a NT-licensed electrician before we can reconnect the power. To find out if you need a CoC, please call 1800 245 092 or check the map at https://www.powerwater.com.au/outages/flooding-katherine-region, which shows areas where properties are likely to need a CoC. A CoC is the responsibility of the property owner. One of the major sewerage issues has been fixed, while the second, on Giles Street, continues to be worked on by crews. People are reminded to stay away from the area. These works are not affecting services to residents, who should ensure their Overflow Relief Gully (ORG) is clear. ORGs are located outside a property, and ensure any sewage overflows do not end up inside homes and businesses. We thank Katherine residents for their continued patience as they recover from the recent flooding. Media contact: 0401 117 599 / media@powerwater.com.au |
