Aidanfield Drive - temporary road closure

Aidanfield Drive (between Halswell Road and Euphrasie Drive/Bibiana Street): temporary road closure from Monday 13 May for about 4 weeks

We will be working at the intersection of Aidanfield Drive and Halswell Road. Due to the road width and traffic volumes in this area, Aidanfield Drive (between Halswell Road and Euphrasie Drive/Bibiana Street) will need to be closed as shown on the map below.

While we are working at the intersection, work may be carried out under extended working hours to complete the intersection as quickly as possible. 

We will need to continue with more work here after the 4 weeks and will update you with what this will mean regarding traffic management in this area.

What are we doing?

Our work will include the removal, upgrade and installation of underground services, drainage and traffic signal ducting, as well as the construction of new kerb and channel, and footpaths. We’ll also be building the new road and installing the new traffic lights.

Traffic impacts

During the road closure there will be no access in or out of this section of Aidanfield Drive - please use the signposted detour routes.

Due to the road closure, the number 60 bus route will be detoured. Information about the bus detours and temporary bus stops will be available at the closed stops, or online at www.metroinfo.co.nz/timetables/updates

On-street parking will not be available on Euphrasie Drive during the road closure due to the bus route detour. However, parking will continue to be available in the parking bays.

Our friendly staff on site can help with any queries. Footpath access around our work site will be maintained.

A temporary 30kph speed limit will be in place where we are working so we can keep our workers and everyone safe.

Access has been planned for and will be provided for emergency services during this time.

Hours of work
Our normal working hours are Monday to Friday between 7am and 7pm, and on Saturdays if needed.
While we are working at the intersection, our working hours may be extended to complete the intersection as quickly as possible.
