BURNLEY BURSTING WITH FREE SUMMER FUN THIS AUGUST

From hands-on creative workshops and themed activities to crazy golf, circus fun, giant games and storytelling, there’s something on nearly every weekday across the town this summer...

Celebrate Summer with Discover Burnley at our Free Summer Fridays ⛳️

This August, we're getting into the spirit of summer and inviting families to enjoy our Free Summer Fridays - a series of fun-filled events taking place on Fridays from 11am - 3pm outside Boots on St James's Street in the town centre.

Activities include Crazy Golf on August 8th & 15th, learn to juggle, balance and clown around at our Circus Workshop on August 22nd, and we're rounding off the school summer holidays with a Giant Games Takeover on August 29th, featuring Tetris Tumble, Octo-Connect and many more.

Free Events on Tuesdays at Down Town 🏴‍☠️

Join Down Town for free themed arts and crafts on Tuesdays in August from 10am - 2pm!

Perfect for little ones, each session includes creative activities, glittery character transfers, a lunch station and plenty of hands-on fun for all ages.

Themes change weekly - set sail with Pirates on August 5th, go wild on a Jungle Safari on August 12th and explore textures in a Sensory World on August 19th.

Spaces are limited and booking is required, so call 01282 470 707 to book a spot.

Family Fun at Charter Walk this August 🐝

Each Thursday in August from 11am - 4pm families can enjoy surprises in Charter Walk, including Meet the Beekeepers on August 7th, a Big Games Bonanza on August 14th, Mad Science Experiments on August 21st and a Little Catchers Workshop on August 28th.

Burnley Market is hosting Creative Wednesdays from 11am - 3pm, where families can drop-in and take part in fun craft sessions. On August 20th, little ones can design their own Flower or Dino Crowns, and on August 27th, dive into Sea Creature Crafts.

Summer Stories and Adventures at Burnley Library 📚

Burnley Library is bursting with fun things to do this August! Dive into history at the Archaeology Discovery Day on August 2nd, or bring the kids along for a special Playday Story Time on August 6th.

Budding filmmakers aged 7+ can get creative in Stop Go Animation Workshops running every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8th - 29th August (booking required via the button below). Plus, teens can connect over books and spark conversation at the Unveiling Narratives Book Club, with meetings taking place on the first Monday of each month.

Make the most of the school summer holidays with amazing local offers across Burnley.

Walkies For a Cause: Join the Annual Mutt Strutt at Towneley Park 🐶

Grab your furry friend and a lead and join the Annual Mutt Strutt - a fun, registered dog walk at the Park Run course in Towneley Park.

With a £10 registration fee per dog, all proceeds go directly to supporting our local RSPCA Lancashire East Branch.

Taking place on August 31st, enjoy extra tail-wagging fun with a Doggy Lucky Dip, tombola, and a raffle. Every doggy participant will receive a goody bag and a certificate to celebrate completing the course.
