For the NEW issue of Fantastic Man (with pop star STEVE LACY on the front page) I had the pleasure of meeting NICOLAS DI FELICE, the designer who makes COURRÈGES so exciting, over several occasions. While he opened a new COURRÈGES store in the Marais in Paris, and at the JEAN PAUL GAULTIER studios while he (crouched on the floor with pins and scissors) guest-designed the couture collection, and when we sat down for drinks and an onion tart in
Belleville. ■ NICOLAS is one of those rare current creative directors who’s actually very good at making clothes himself, and he’s an expert in finding nice apartments for himself and friends. He alsolikes a tattoo. ■ The story is on pages 176-187 of the new issue, and the man himself is currently in Hyères, in the south of France, as the head of fashion jury of the fashion festival there, which is such a fun event. FOMO! But we can’t be everywhere at the time. TORSO choreographed and took NICO’s great portraits, with styling by JUAN CORRALES.
