Upcoming road layout changes

As we work towards making State Highway 22 safer for our community, we will be making a number of road layout changes. We’d like to thank you for your patience while we work through these important safety improvements.

New road layout - Night work

From Monday 9 August all road users will be moved onto a temporary road on SH22 to allow space for the construction of the new roundabout to be undertaken safely. New line marking will be installed overnight on Sunday 8 August.

This work is weather dependent and if required this work may be moved to the next available night

Steel barriers – Night work

On Monday 9 August and Tuesday 10 August temporary steel safety barriers will be placed along the perimeter of the construction site to further ensure safety of our construction workers.

A stop/go operation will be in place on SH22 from 8pm to 5am during these nights to allow us to make these changes safely, while traffic volumes are at their lowest.

This work may have periods of increased noise and we apologise for any disruption this may cause.

This work is weather dependent and if required this work may be moved to the next available night.

Temporary speed limit

To ensure the safety of our workers and all road users, a speed limit of 50km/h is now in place past the construction site on SH22.

Passing lane

The westbound passing lane (towards Pukekohe) on SH22 is now closed. A white flush median strip has been created along this stretch of road for your safety.
