"Immediate Forgiveness" for 40,000?

What’s not to like about this "headline" yesterday from the U.S. Department of Education? In an April 19 tweet the department "announced steps to address historical federal student loan program failures, helping at least 3.6 million federal student loan borrowers move closer to forgiveness—including immediate forgiveness for ~40,000 borrowers."

The Lapeer church recognized a need to update its facilities, so we began to raise funds for the project and the church members were very supportive. Not long after we started the campaign, we realized that our roof needed not just repairs, but it needed to be replaced. Leaks we had fixed a couple of times began leaking again. We tried to patch things up again without success, so we began to gather estimates for the replacement of our roof.
