Study NSW engages with sector stakeholders at ICEF ANZA 2024Study NSW recently attended the ICEF ANZA Conference in Christchurch from 22 to 24 April, expanding its outreach to international education agents. The event allowed Study NSW to showcase its programs and initiatives, connect with key stakeholders, and provide updates on the international education sector in NSW. By fostering global connections, Study NSW aims to enhance the attractiveness of NSW as a study destination for international students. Study NSW champions quality student accommodation at industry lunch in WollongongThe Student Accommodation Association (SAA) recently brought together education and student accommodation providers to discuss enhancing the international student experience, the role of the National Property Accreditation Scheme (NPAS) in ensuring quality accommodation, and industry best practices. Last call to express your interest in the LATAM ExpoStudy NSW is partnering with the Wharton Group to deliver the Expo Vente Australia in Columbia, Peru, and Chile. Don’t miss the opportunity to participate in the NSW Education Expo and meet with prospective international students and other important education stakeholders. Our early bird rate has been extended until 31 July. The Expo will be held from Saturday 26 October to Tuesday 5 November 2024 in Bogota, Lima, and Santiago. Industry news and opportunities Next steps in ensuring the integrity and sustainability of the sectorThe Australian Government is introducing legislation to support the integrity and sustainability of the international education sector. The Government has released the draft International Education and Skills Strategic Framework to support consultation with the sector on how to implement a system of sustainable, managed growth in international student enrolments. Increase to the financial capacity requirement for Student and Student Guardian visasThe financial requirement for Student and Student Guardian visa applicants increased from 10 May 2024. The financial capacity requirement has been updated to align with a proportion (75 percent) of the national minimum wage. Feedback needed to improve EDI’s user experienceAustrade is gathering feedback on the new Education Data Insights (EDI) launched in August last year, replacing the MIP. As part of its commitment to enhancing user experience, Study NSW invites participants to share their thoughts on the service's performance by taking the survey here.
