Mount Cecil Road to Harris Road

Earlier this year chip seal was put down between Mount Cecil and Harris Roads. We’ll be applying a final layer of asphalt later this year. Once the asphalt is applied, wire rope and steel barriers can be installed. The work will be completed at night to keep disruption to a minimum.

We are currently working just west of Harris Road, this will continue into 2023. We are installing new drainage, road barriers and putting down a new road surface. Most of this work, apart from the asphalt, will be done between 7am and 7pm.

At Harris Road we’ve installed the pipe for the stormwater and are now we are waiting for the drier months to complete this. Once this is completed, we’ll install new water inlets and construct the finished surface on the verge outside of Britton’s House Movers.

Construction work will stop over the summer holidays between 18 December to 8 January inclusive.

Harris Road to Transmission Gully Interchange

We have recently lodged the consent applications and other key documents for the next stage of improvements between Harris Road and east of Moonshine Road and are awaiting all of these to be approved. This section has been brought forward as it is less complex than the final stage which includes the two new roundabouts. Our aim – once all approvals are granted – will be to start construction towards the end of this year.

We are still working through the assessments and designs for the improvements between east of Moonshine Road and the Transmission Gully Interchange. We have been speaking to members of the community and stakeholders specifically about the design of the roundabouts and associated school bus infrastructure.

We will share the updated design of these once completed. We are aiming to lodge applications for consents and other approvals for this section of the project before the end of the year.
