There is a lot happening in our world right now. We are very excited at both the quality and scale of projects submitted to the Joint TMP/NZ On Air funding round. The decision letters for that round will be sent on Friday 19th April. NZ On Air and Te Māngai Pāho have agreed to continue the joint funding initiative in 2024/25. It is likely that the focus on more ambitious, high-quality content will continue. Especially, since the revised settings for the Screen Production Rebate (SPR), now allow for all types of domestic productions to access both the rebate and other Government funding, including that of NZ On Air and Te Māngai Pāho We were also pleased with the range of proposals submitted in response to our ROI for General Audience Round One of the 2024/25 financial year. There was a total of 47 applications submitted to the round. Decision letters for that round were distributed on Monday of this week and 29 applicants have been provided with the RFP for the round and invited to submit full proposals. We are all constantly reminded that the media landscape is rapidly changing, the announcements at both NewsHub and TVNZ in recent weeks really brings that home. Te Māngai Pāho is monitoring developments very closely and will aim to remain agile and capable of moving quickly to ensure Māori content creators and platforms are able to deliver high quality Māori content to our audiences.
