Coronavirus (COVID-19) | Update for Residents and Families

Dear Resident or Family Member,

RE: COVID-19 Update for Residents and Families of Calvary Brighton

Further to our recent update, we are pleased to inform residents and families that recent testing has returned all negative results for staff. Testing has been completed for all residents yesterday 12 January as surveillance.

This means, pending we receive negative results from testing yesterday, we will be able lift the lockdown restrictions at our Calvary Brighton Aged Care Home, and visitors will be permitted entry, subject to guidelines. Please note that as the recent case was an exposure residents are not isolated to their rooms.

Are visitors allowed?

As above, Calvary Brighton will reopen to visitors from 14 January 2022.

Please be advised that in line with Calvary’s recent visitor update dated 29 December 2021, one single nominated visitor will be permitted per resident during the Home’s visiting hours, due to the heightened risk of infection and consistent with the latest government directives. This will be in place until further notice.

Visitation exceptions may be made for residents receiving end of life care, or who may be experiencing distress, or where a special care and support role is provided. Please speak with the Manager of your Home to discuss arrangements.

What happens now?

As a precaution, our staff will continue to closely monitor all residents for symptoms of COVID-19.

We thank residents and families for your continued support and understanding during this challenging time. You can help us by sharing this information with your family and friends.

We are also very grateful that families continue to work with us so generously to ensure the safety of your loved ones in our care, and look forward to receiving visitors back into the Home.

Yours sincerely,

Ryan MidgleyGeneral Manager Aged Care
