Proud of Ravens at the Panda Game 

Despite a disappointing loss to the uOttawa Gee-Gees, we’re proud of the Ravens football team for a strong game and sportsmanship. The players represented Carleton with tenacity and strength, and we can’t wait to cheer them on at their next game.

 

Register for the Global Opportunities Fair

The first-ever Global Opportunities Fair on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. offers you a chance to learn more about options for international experiences and services, including the International Student Services Office, International Internship Program and Alternative Spring Break, as you finish your degree.

Smudge-Friendly Locations on Campus

Carleton now has 42 smudge-friendly spaces on campus, including the entire Architecture Building and Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre. Smudging is a tradition common to many First Nations and Métis communities which involves the burning of one or more medicines gathered from the earth. 

Smudging Ceremony

Signage will be installed in all smudge-friendly locations to indicate where smudging can occur without pre-approval.

 

International Exchange for 2024-2025 – Applications Open on October 4

Carleton University offers an exchange program with approximately 110 partner institutions in more than 30 countries around the globe. This is an opportunity for students to study full-time at a partner institution for a single term (fall or winter) or for a full academic year. For more information and to apply for the 2024-2025 academic year, visit the International Student Services Office website.

Pride Festival

In conjunction with student groups and campus partners, the Student Experience Office will be hosting a full lineup of events for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community from Tuesday, October 10 to Sunday, October 15, 2023 as part of Pride Festival.

 

Changing Your Address Online

It is important to verify Carleton University has the correct address for you on file. You can do this quickly and easily through Carleton Central (log in through Carleton360). Instructions to change your address can be found on the Registrar's Office website.

Research in Residence is Back for the Fall Term

Research in Residence brings research support services to students living in residence. Come take part in this opportunity to get research help right in Teraanga Commons! Dates and times can be found on the First-Year Students: Library Basics Guide.

In honour of Orange Shirt Day, the Residence Reception Desk commissioned art from Kevin George, an Anishinaabe Bodewadmi/Nehiyaw artist. Kevin George "chose to focus on the beauty of Indigenous people and what I envision for the future, while honouring and acknowledging the original people of the land where Carleton University is situated."

Reflecting After Orange Shirt Day

Orange Shirt Day was on Saturday, October 30, 2023. Community members are encouraged to continue to take time to reflect meaningfully on the responsibilities we all have to conciliation in Canada. The Orange Shirt Day webpage has stories, events and resources to support this reflection.

Spirit Day Sweaters – Limited Edition Pink Version

The CU Spirit Day program is a collaboration within the Carleton community to promote Ravens spirit among students, staff and faculty. In alignment with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a limited-edition pink Spirit Day sweater is now available for purchase with proceeds benefitting Carleton’s Relay for Life fundraising efforts. Get your limited-edition pink sweater for $20 plus HST.
