Happy New Year from the team at Glenbrook Roundabout

We hope you have all had an enjoyable Christmas and are looking forward to 2022.

We are looking forward to completing the next phase of the Glenbrook Roundabout.

This involves completing a new road surface on SH22 and building the tie-in approaches to the roundabout on SH22 and Glenbrook Road.

Lane layout changes

From Wednesday 5 January all road users using the southbound lane on SH22 will be moved onto a temporary road layout. Steel safety barriers will be in place and the new layout will be clearly marked.
To ensure the safety of our workers and all road users, a speed limit of 50km/h will remain in place past the construction site on SH22.

Upcoming road closures

Changes to SH22:

From 5 January to 1 March 2022 the northbound lane on SH22 between Puhitahi Hill Rd and the Pukekohe Golf Course will be closed.

Changes to Glenbrook Rd:

From 5 January to 28 March 2022 Glenbrook Rd will be closed in both directions between Charles Rd and the intersection of SH22.

Before deciding on this closure, we looked at a number of different options. This was the best option overall as it allows multiple construction activities to take place at the same time and will reduce overall disruption to the community.

This closure is planned to start in January when traffic volumes are at their lightest on SH22.

Journey travel time may increase by up to 15 minutes when using detour routes. Detour routes will be clearly signposted - please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey.

We’d like to thank the Franklin community for their ongoing patience and support while we make important safety improvements in the area.
