FCC Personnel Update - Democratic FCC Commissioner Geoffrey Starks announced he will resign this spring, potentially granting Republicans a temporary 2-1 majority on the Federal Communications Commission until the Senate confirms President Trump's nominee, Olivia Trusty. This shift could allow FCC Chairman Brendan Carr to advance partisan policies that previously faced Democratic opposition.

A New FAA - President Donald Trump has nominated Bryan Bedford, CEO of Republic Airways, to serve as the next Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The nomination has received widespread support from industry stakeholders, including the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) and Airlines for America (A4A), who praise Bedford's extensive aviation experience and commitment to safety.

Congressional Workforce Oversight - On March 20, 2025, Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg (R-MI) sent a letter to newly confirmed Department of Labor (DOL) Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer, outlining the Committee's priorities and requesting oversight on issues previously neglected by the Biden-Harris administration. Chairman Walberg emphasized improving worker training opportunities, expanding healthcare access, and enhancing compliance assistance, while also highlighting concerns such as returning federal employees to in-person work and addressing inefficiencies within the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA).
