  • People for Education AOSS data shows that while 68% of elementary and 76% of secondary schools in Ontario report having resources for #DigitalMediaLiteracy, most lack policies for student use of artificial intelligence. 
  • Children Aid Foundation of Canada latest report highlights key strategies to improve education outcomes for children in care, offering insights for child welfare and education professionals. Read here.

Sector Wins!

  • Win for Kids Help Phone, who received J&W Murphy Foundation gift for unlocking hope for more youth to thrive with a transformational gift in support of young people and their mental health across Atlantic Canada.
  • Congratulations to Jack.org, who met with Minister Ya'ara Saks and MP Lloyd Longfield in Guelph, ON, discussing the importance of peer support and mental health education in schools. We look forward to collaborating with the Government of Canada for a better future for youth!
  • Children First Canada and the Coalition for Healthy School Food applaud Newfoundland's agreement with the Government of Canada on the National School Food Program. 
  • Maytree Foundation's Malvern Youth Advocacy and Action Program (MYAAP) participants had an impactful day presenting policy briefs to Councillor Alejandra Bravo. We're proud of young leaders shaping our community's future! 

Funding Opportunities

  • Weyerhaeuser Canada's Giving Program funds initiatives in affordable housing, education, environmental stewardship, and more to support community needs. Applications are open until September 30, 2024.
  • InMotion Network offers Go Girl Event Grants of up to $2,500 to help communities host events for teen girls. Applications are due by December 1, 2024, for programs running between January and May.
  • Hunter Family Foundation enriches community quality of life by granting funds to registered charities addressing social, educational, or health needs, favoring innovative solutions. Applications are due by October 30 annually.
