President's Message

Stephanie Janeczko, CAWA, DVM, MS, DABVP (Shelter Medicine Practice, Canine & Feline Practice)

Please join me in congratulating and welcoming the 60 outstanding veterinarians who joined us this month as our newest Diplomates! The road to becoming board certified in ABVP is challenging and we applaud the time, passion, and drive you’ve shown in achieving this milestone. You’re joining a group of more than 1,100 veterinarians who are equally passionate and committed to excellence in comprehensive, multi-disciplinary veterinary care across our 12 RVSs. This is an impressive group of individuals, no doubt, not only because of our collective professional accomplishments but because of who we are as a community – collaborative, kind, compassionate individuals who are eager to meet and support one another. We are excited to have you with us!

From committee work to events, mentorship, and leadership roles, volunteer efforts are what makes ABVP possible. Whether you’re a new Diplomate or have been with us for years, your involvement will strengthen our community, broaden our perspectives, and reinforce our shared commitment to excellence in veterinary medicine. Please consider volunteering in the year ahead.

Symposium is a great place to experience the strength of the ABVP community in person – it’s an excellent opportunity for networking and connection with robust scientific sessions. The CE committee has planned an outstanding event for 2026 and I hope to see many of you in Boston April 9-12th next year. Don’t forget to snag a ticket to our Annual Awards dinner and register before February 27 to take advantage of early bird rates!

I hope this holiday season is filled with opportunities to relax and recharge, time with loved ones, all the things that bring you joy. Looking ahead to the coming year, I’m excited for what comes next as we explore new ways to engage, connect, and grow together. Do you have an idea or suggestion? We’d love to hear from you!

ABVP Member CV Upload Portal Is Now Live!

Stephen Pittenger, DVM, DABVP (Canine & Feline Practice), FF-ABVP-EP, President Elect

As ABVP continues to grow each year, it’s more important than ever that we stay connected to the incredible work our members are doing—both within and beyond veterinary medicine. To help us do that, we now have a secure web portal for members to upload their Curriculum Vitae (CV).

We already collect CVs from applicants during the credentialing cycle, but now we are asking all current members to upload an updated CV as well. Your CV helps us better understand your experience, interests, and professional activities so we can better match members with opportunities and organizational needs.

All members serving on committees should upload their CV so we have a clearer picture of current commitments. New members who are not yet volunteering are also encouraged to upload their CVs so they can be considered for the many roles that help support ABVP. We further request that members update their CV in the portal whenever a major professional change occurs (new position, certification, publications, leadership roles, etc.).

How to Upload Your CV:

  1. Go to ABVP.com
  2. Click on Diplomate Login
  3. Log into Prolydian
  4. On the left side of the screen, find “My Member Actions”
  5. Click “Submit Your CV” and upload your most current CV

Thank you for helping ABVP stay connected, informed, and strong through your continued engagement and professional service.

ABVP Residency

Elise Gingrich, DVM, MPH, MS, DACVPM, DABVP (Shelter Medicine Practice)

The Residency Committee Needs You!

We still need your help to support future Diplomates! The primary responsibility of the committee is to evaluate resident progress by reviewing their training logs, which are submitted every six months. It’s a great way to support future diplomates and your colleagues who are training them!

Committee members will also help review applications for new residency programs. We can use help in every RVS, but really need more support for Avian, Beef, Dairy, and ECM. The more committee members, the lighter the workload for everyone!

If you’re interested in volunteering for the Residency Committee or have questions, please reach out to me directly.
