Fostering community through Indigenous leadership

For more than 10 years, the Indigenous Circles of Support and Leadership Program has been bringing Indigenous students together to share a meal, build community and deepen Indigenous Knowledge.

Western third in Canada for sustainability

Western is tied for third in Canada and 14th globally in the Times Higher Education 2025 Impact Rankings, which evaluate over 2,500 post-secondary institutions from 130 countries on their progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. 

Generative AI Teaching Fellows announced

History professor William Turkel, Ivey professor Guneet Kaur Nagpal and health sciences professor Andrews Tawiah have been named Western’s first Generative AI Teaching Fellows. Over the next two years, the fellows will develop AI tools for students and lead campus-wide training for staff and faculty through the Centre for Teaching and Learning.

Western to host Special Olympics School Championships

Western will host the 2026 Special Olympics Ontario School Championships, bringing more than 1,000 student athletes and educators to campus next May for Canada’s largest multi-sport event for athletes with intellectual disabilities.
