What goes around comes around, so make sure you recycle right! A recent audit of Casey’s recycling found many non-recyclable items like plastic bags, polystyrene and clothing mixed through the quality recycling. It's super-important to put the correct items in your recycling bin so that we have clean material for making new things. That way we ensure as many of your hard-separated materials could end up as new products. If you're unsure something can be recycled,
please check out our guide! If it can't be recycled, pop it in the general garbage.
This National Recycling Week we're making it easier than ever to keep our bins textile-free. Casey will host the FREE unwanted textile drop-off event again this November. This year we’re giving you even more opportunities to send your linens, clothes and shoes to either local charities or straight into the circular economy for recycling. These are just the highlight of Green Living this month! Scroll down for more on sustainability and climate biodiversity and conservation the circular economy kitchen and wildlife gardening and grants and opportunities.

Flora and Fauna Spotlight – Imperial Jezebel Butterfly (Delias harpalyce) The black, red and yellow colour on the underside of the wings is the eye-catching feature of this butterfly. They migrate in large numbers and are one of the few species of butterfly known to do this. Caterpillars of this beautiful butterfly feed solely on Mistletoe, a parasitic plant often seen growing on Allocasuarina, Eucalypt and Acacia trees. Skip the tip: silica sachets Silica gel is a popular drying agent as it can absorb around 40% of its weight in water. Chemically, silica gel is inert - but the sachets are surrounded by lots of plastic. They're difficult to avoid, especially in medicines. BUT you can reuse them! 💚 keep them in your wardrobe to avoid mould 💚 scatter them in your pantry to help extend the life of your packaged foods. 💚 stash them in your sweaty shoes 💚 add them to
stored seeds
